To be expected, the steam train forms an important portion of this fine illustrated work, which also covers most other forms of transport to delight a wide range of readers – Most Highly Recommended. The author has a great love of railways and also of modelling railways in O Gauge, but he started as an artist and has an artists eye for the subjects. There is very helpful text linking and noting the artwork that has been carefully selected. The result is a book which will delight a very wide readership beyond those with a specific transport interest. Each illustration is beautifully reproduced and offers the subject in foreground with perspective and context from the background. The publisher has produced the work in A4 landscape on quality paper, making this an exceptionally good value.
