DESCRIPTION: This book is based on the previously unpublished letters and

Very Highly Recommended

This book features a high photographic content. Most of the material and images have not been previously published and add greatly to the story of WWII.

The letters and diaries have escaped censorship and provide a candid impression of life at war in Western Europe and the Mediterranean. Images in many cases were shot by the servicemen themselves, using basic camera equipment, but still producing good quality film stock.

The stories that this material tells is poignant but also optimistic, looking forward to the end to war.
