DESCRIPTION: Touring battlefields, as a popular tourist activity, really started
following WWII. As touring battlefields continued to increase, there has been a
thirst for alternatives to WWI and WWII battlefields. Highly Recommended

The Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71 saw the Germans heading for Paris and victory. Sedan was a logical point of entry and was hard fought. The Prussians cut through the French defences and encircled Paris. The same ground was fought over in WWI and WWII as the Germans sought to knock France out of the war.

The author has provided highly informative text, which is supported strongly by a wealth of illustration in the form of maps and photographs. This is a very useful information source for any enthusiast’s library and is small enough to fit into the pocket for those who want to make the journey to the site of the battles in the Sedan Campaign.
