DESCRIPTION: First published in 2013, this soft back edition is very welcome,
providing a unique insight into the Nazis from their rise to power through to Hitler's
suicide. Hans Baur was a trusted member of Hitler's staff and the only pilot he
trusted to fly him – Very Highly Recommended.

Baur was a pilot during WWI, becoming a commercial pilot after the end of that war.
He began flying Hitler in the election campaign of 1932 when Hitler raced from
location to location to give his speeches. To keep to his deadlines, Hitler had no
choice but to fly, something he loathed and feared. He only had confidence in Baur
as his pilot and a unique relationship developed that was to last until Hitler committed
suicide in the Fuhrer Bunker.

The relationship was much like that of any employer to a trusted servant. Hitler felt
the need to share his private thoughts and plans with several of his personal staff,
each developing a unique insight. Because Baur was a Bavarian and serving Hitler
through the rise to power and on to the final defeat, Baur observed and was privy to
all of the key events during that period. He also met and related to many Nazi figures
and their families, including Magda Goebbels, Eva Braun and many others. This
memoir provides information that has not otherwise been available and also fresh
insight into people and events.
