The text is in English and Swedish with outstanding images– Highly Recommended. This book is aimed firmly at the modellers and model engineers, providing excellent illustration. In this readership, the innovative presentation works extremely well and provides a study of scale plastic models, built by semi-professional and amateur modellers. However, it will also appeal to a wider readership because its subject is the sequence of three wars that were fought by Finland between 1939 and 1945 against Soviet attempts to annex Finland. This is a part of recent military history that has not been covered very well and where good quality images of the equipment involved are rare. At the beginning, Russia was allied with Nazi Germany and Finland was supplied and assisted by Britain and other European countries. When Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union, Finland was supported by the Nazis and received arms and supplies from Germany, making for a very interesting selection of equipment available to Finnish Defence Forces. Each model covered by the book is treated to a 4 to 8 page section that illustrates the subjects in full colour and explains the historical relevance of the subjects. This makes for a fascinating collection of aircraft, tanks, vehicles and soldiers, featuring unique camouflage and marking that will provide modellers with a very useful range of ideas. An excellent work and the first volume to become available from a planned series that has already attracted strong interest from the international model-making community.
