The Heavy Cruiser Takao

The subject of this book is the lead vessel of a class of 4 vessels built between 1930 and 1931. They were fast, heavily armed, and well-protected, Takao being sunk in Singapore Harbour by a midget submarine. A volume in the series of Conway Anatomy of the Ship books. Primarily aimed at model engineers and serious students of ships and ship design. Its strength is in the fine quality of the illustrations which are excellent and include a scale fold-out plan inside the dust jacket. There are some good detail photographs of Takao and details of the aircraft carried from first commission to wartime sinking
