DESCRIPTION: This DVD has been produced by selecting and editing original wartime film footage. Primarily the footage is from German archives and some clips include the original sound track. The quality is generally good and features footage not seen since WWII. The period covered is that of the early victorious years of WWII when the German armoured thrusts, supported by airborne troops and close air support triumphed over the opposing armies. At this stage of WWII, the German armour was not superior to the opposing armour of Britain and France, but it was deployed in focussed attacks where the Allies spread their armour thinly and relied on fixed defences that proved inadequate in blocking a German advance. The PKW Type III was starting to arrive in increasing numbers and marked the point where the German tank technology was beginning to pull ahead of Allied technology. As with other DVDs in the series, there are bonus galleries and archive film
