This Orange Series book provides a detailed view of the aircraft and its deployment, with stunning illustration. – Very Highly Recommended.
The Italian aircraft industry was capable of the design and development of advanced aircraft, but production capacity was strictly limited. The C205 Veltro (Greyhound) was able to equal or out-perform the best Allied fighters available at the time of its introduction to service. Production capacity constraints resulted in only a small production run.
The Mushroom Model Publications have always been aimed primarily at military history enthusiasts and the modelling fraternity. However the quality of books is first rate and the Orange Series, of which this new book is a part, provides well-research text, supported by lavish and outstanding illustration. Much of the illustration is photographic and this is a colour capable production with some stunning full colour images. There are detailed and precise engineering drawings in addition to general and detailed photographs. As to be expected there are also full colour drawings of the aircraft commissioned for the book, showing colour schemes for Italian Fascist, Free Italian, German, Egyptian and Australian markings.
This an ideal book for enthusiasts and modellers, but it will appeal to a wider audience because of the unique range of information and illustration it provides. Anyone with a particular interest in WWII combat aircraft cannot afford to miss this great book.
