DESCRIPTION: The high quality lavishly illustrated history of Concorde comes at a price which may deter some potential readers but it should never the less sell well to a wide audience. Concorde is one of those exceptional aircraft that is recognized around the world even by those who may never have been able to fly in her or view her from the ground. The author has a series of major books to his credit, mainly on RAF bombing, but has produced an excellent celebration of a unique aeroplane. This reviewer had the privilege to fly in Concorde on a number of occasions and is always interested to review a book on this iconic machine. There is good readable text mainly in the form of extended captions, but the strength of this book is its stunning photographs. First rate photographic selection. Highly recommended.
