The author has produced an absorbing biography of WWII naval hero Stanley “Swede” Vejtasa. “Swede” flew the SBD Dauntless dive-bomber and the F4F Wildcat fighter during the start of the Pacific War – Most Highly Recommended.

Burning Planet, The Story of Fire Through Time
The author has provided a fascinating history of fire, its impact on the planet and its life forms. Fire is a greatly under estimated phenomena. It has an enormous impact on the environment and the development of everything that lives in that environment. Its impact is at least an equal to water, ice, plate tectonics, weather patterns and atmosphere – Highly Recommended.
Air War Archive, Dornier Do17, The Luftwaffe’s ‘Flying Pencil’ Rare Luftwaffe Photographs From Wartime Collections
The publisher has established a number of series of books featuring many rare photographs and these have become very popular with an expanding readership, beyond the original target of historians, professionals and military enthusiasts. This new addition to popular the Air War Archive series is a worthy addition with some excellent photographs that have not been published before in books available to the general public – Highly Recommended.
The Allied War Against France
The euphoria generated by the successful landings in Normandy, and the subsequent breakout from the beachheads, has largely glossed over the consequences and collateral damage in France. The author has provided a worthy evaluation of the costs, with the short term and long term effects – Most Highly Recommended.
Some Sunny Day, A nurse, A soldier. A wartime love story
A delightful account of two people against the backdrop of the Burma campaign. Nurses served close to, and sometimes behind the enemy lines in Burma. It is a story that has never been told well and this book puts that right – Most Highly Recommended.
U-Boat 977, The True Story of the U-Boat That Escaped to Argentina
There have been many claims and conspiracy theories about U-Boats fleeing to South America and other destinations in the closing stages of WWII. This is a true account of one U-Boat that reached Argentina – whether it is the full story may be the subject of debate, but this is a very interesting account by the commander of U 977 – Most Highly Recommended.
U-Boat Ace, The Story of Wolfgang Luth
Wolfgang Luth was an exceptional submarine commander, second highest scoring U-Boat Ace of WWII. Luth operated in almost every theatre of the naval war and was one of only seven German military personnel to be awarded the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds – Most Highly Recommended.
Horrocks, The General Who Led From The Front
Of a handful of leading military commanders of WWII, Brian Horrocks stood out & was compared to Rommel. This is more than a biography of a major military figure, but a life lesson – Most Highly Recommended.
The Luftwaffe and the War At Sea, 1939-1945, As Seen By Officers Of The Kreigsmarine And the Luftwaffe
This is original source material provided by German military officers and sensitively edited into book form. It provides a fascinating insight into the German views of naval aviation and the war at sea – Most Highly Recommended.
Red Army Sniper, a Memoir of the Eastern Front in World War II
The publisher has already released a number of excellent books about snipers and their craft. This is a worthy addition to their list but it should be treated with some circumspection because the biography was originally released during the Soviet Era and includes some manipulation which this English translation does not attempt to challenge in the interests of making this a faithful edition to the Russian language original – Most Highly Recommended.
