The presentation is colourful and lively, including vignettes provided by leading living historians. This is an engaging and absorbing DVD that moves at a reasonable pace, covers the subject well, adds the soldier’s eye and provides the feel of authenticity.

This DVD pair provides a very effective coverage of the changing face of German armour through WWII and the part that Guderian played in the effective deployment of armour in fast mobile war. The 100 minutes of original rare and unseen archive film will be appreciated by enthusiasts, but the bonus films and picture galleries make this a DVD not to be missed.

This DVD provides 58 minutes of rare and unseen footage shot by war cameramen and depicting the conditions during the North Atlantic battle between the German Navy and convoys maintaining supplies to Britain during WWII.

The diary extracts are articulate and engaging, describing daily life on the Western Front with his own experiences and descriptions of the officers and men he served alongside. Hanson is a good observer and provides graphic detail with incisive wit.
